How I build clinical & emotional support & manage medications
In 2023, I followed a 3-months online dysautonomia rehab program. Daily group check-ins, detailed tutorials plus 4-6 hour homework. Weekly individual nutritional coaching, which I continued less frequently though, into 2025. Supervision of my GP for labs.
Integration
Lab results I track & supplements I take
Electrolytes & Benfotiamin 2000mg for 1.5 years, later also TTFD - amazing. Other B-vitamins as needed; vitamin A helped my eyes. Some specific amino acids (glycine, creatine, taurine, etc), not sure if they did anything. Iodine. Specific probiotics. Initially: labs every 3 months for 2 years. GI-Map in summer 2025. Insulin only measured in spring 2025. Favorite way to track progress: perform a specific, challenging activity every year or month, compare.
Nutritional
How I eat, incorporate fasting, & approach macronutrients
It started with a GAPS-keto chicken soup with ghee, which we were supposed to eat for 3 months up to 2 years. Completely starch & sugar-free, lectin-free, low oxalate, some ferments. Went through a magic cod liver / fish-oil phase of 6 months :) Initially: under 20g total carbs, 60g protein, unlimited fat (which could go up anywhere from 250 to 350g). This was quite taxing on my system eventually. Now full carnivore, I enjoy it so much, with 0.8-1g of protein per lbs of lean mass + high fat. Worked up to OMADs. Followed that for a year, but it became extremely stressful. Now 16:8 window. For social settings, I always prepare my food or fast. I don't mind skipping their food, but the skepticism of others is one of the hardest things.
Ketosis
Target ketone levels & testing methods
Yes Blood ketones, right after waking, for 2 years. The recommended aim: steady above 2mmol/l. Recently could find a CKM :)
