Recovering from
Asperger's, psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis

"After about 4 months of Carnivore, I noticed I was no longer thinking in images, that my psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and gout were in remission, and I am able to exercise 'harder' without feeling like I have to stop. I can only describe the physical, mental and health differences as startling and put them all down to the state of ketosis produced by the carnivore diet."
Asperger's improving & psoriatic symptoms disappeared
Carnivore & intermittent fasting

No lab tests. Once I realised that the ketogenic diet I was following was probably helping mitochondrial function, I started to also take various supplements such as Q10 to further help.
I did 3 months strict carnivore. Ruminant meat mainly, drinking only water. After the first 3 months I reintroduced good black coffee in the mornings and vodka on the occasional evening. If we went out to eat I'd opt for some form of meat only such as chicken wings grilled & perhaps ordering 3 portions. I have followed the 16:8 IF protocol for several years and continue to do so. No carbs initially but in the last few months I've concorporated very small amounts of home made sauerkraut for gut health. I aim to consume about 1000g of ruminant meat/day along with goats butter to taste. Flavoured with rock salt.
I don't test for ketones as I don't see the point. I do however have a sweet taste in my mouth most/all of the time which I believe is indicative of being in ketosis.
I always get at least 10 mins morning sunlight (dog walk). Lights off at around 9-10pm. Wake up around 5-6am. No blue light blocking but screens set to night mode from 6pm.
Kettlebells. 4-5x week. 100 single arm swings & 10 Turkish get-ups each time. Currently at 32kg kettlebell weight. Looking to slowly progress up to 48 kg over the next few years. Some running, usually 20-30 mins, 2-3x /week.
Never smoked. Drink far too much vodka but balance that with at least 3 months "off" at least 1x year. Do my utmost to avoid stress as it does flare up my psoriatic arthritis. Limit pork as it can reignite psoriasis. I used to drink beer but stopped when I gave up gluten 10 years ago. Stopped organic red wine when I started on carnivore.
Emotional resilience, hmm... I find that daily cold plunges tend to have a calming effect on my personality. I try to meditate for 3-6 minutes after my daily Wim Hof breathing but not sure if that helps. makes me feel like I'm doing something productive though.
I don't use any objective metrics other than bodyfat measuring scales. I'd like to but they are either too expensive for what they are or too much "faff" in my opinion. Subjectively, I can feel when my inflammatory levels are low as my joints, especially in my hands, don't feel tight/swollen. That happens after the Wim Hof breathing, sauna, Tai Chi or after taking raw turmeric juice or powder (which I no longer do since going carnivore).
