Therapeutic

I have a care team and coordinator through the State of New York and I need to track my Lithium levels to ensure they are within the therapeutic range.

Integration

I test my ketones level daily and do a lipid panel every 3 months along with my lithium level. I take supplements. I take creatine because it helps with ATP production and there is evidence it is useful to brain metabolism as well as muscle metabolism. I also supplement with a multivitamin.

Nutritional

I usually skip breakfast and I eat a diet high in fat and protein. I sometimes take Cod Liver Oil or eat butter to make sure I'm getting enough fat in my diet. I try to keep my net carb level below 30g per day and ideally I shoot for less than 20g per day. On Mother's Day I ate more carbs than I should have. It was a cheat day, but I was depressed the next day, which showed me the importance of staying adherent to the diet.

Ketosis

I use a blood ketone testing meter and I try to test every day. I shoot to have my Blood Ketone level at around 1.0 mmol per liter.

Sleep

I try to wake up at the same time everyday. Around 6 or 7am. I use nasal strips to help me breathe better when I sleep. I find oversleeping to be a problem for me when I am depressed so its important for me to wake up early and usually I have a cup of coffee or two to keep me awake.

Move

I play baseball and soccer with a team. I workout, run and practice mixed martial arts to keep me physically and mentally healthy and strong.

Avoid

Ive had difficulties with nicotine and smoking. I am currently quitting smoking but still use nicotine products like nicotine gum. I am hoping to quit nicotine entirely but for now I am focused on quitting smoking.

Rebuild

It helps to have a goal. I have the goal of becoming an EMT and then a Paramedic. It keeps me motivated and driven in class and to stay physically and mentally healthy and accountable to my diet and treatment strategies.

I use the blood ketone monitor to make sure I am in nutritional ketosis.
