Therapeutic

Nicole Laurent is my keto coach, and I work with a psychiatrist and therapist. They all are very supportive of my metabolic therapies. I was on 2 antipyschotics, clonazepam, anxiety and depression medications. I have gone very slowly with tapering. I would use a liquid form of the medication when available. I am currently tapering off clonazepam. I have tapered down halfway from the antipsychotic I am currently taking. I experienced potentiation a few times which my psychiatrist was very understanding and would help me micro taper. I would consult Nicole with how to deal with the side effects of the potentiation.

Integration

I take several different supplements: choline, fish oil, B complex, carnetine, potassium, magnesium, iodine, and lions mane. I did not take tests before medical keto, but now I do and I repeat the metabolic panel every 6 months.

Nutritional

I am strictly on the keto diet. I feel my best when I am under 20 net carbs, but at times, I do consume 20 net carbs maximum. This is rare. I do a partial fast every 2 weeks, where I will still eat dinner.

K

Ketosis

I tracked ketones and glucose through keto mojo.

S

Sleep

I like to wake up early and walk in the sunlight when it is cool (I live in FL). I wear an eyemask at night and enjoy lighting candles, reading a book, and drinking tea with ashwagandha in it. I do make sure I am going to bed at 9:30pm-10pm and wake up the same time on my days off.

M

Move

I usually walk in the morning after I wake up and in the evening after I get off work in nice parks to be in nature. I always go for a morning walk, as it is good for mitochondria.

A

Avoid

Quitting alcohol and truly reading ingredients in the food I am consuming. I have also been working on seeing "glimmers" (connecting with beauty and safety in moments that are often overlooked) It's been hard to remain disciplined but I am driven to be the best version of myself for my family, friends, and of course, me. Because it is my life I am living.

R

Rebuild

I never expected to have my mood shift so much and experience so much calm. I did expect it to be hard. 2 hurricanes hit when I first started keto, but I still remained faithful in my keto journey, despite barely being able to eat during these times. My advice would be---yes, it will be difficult and life may throw you a curveball or 2, but You are worth the sacrifice and effort! My faith in Jesus, support from my husband, therapist, psychiatrist and my Brain Fog Recovery Program community, all helped me stay emotionally resilient. I also love to journal and creative writing.

Track

I track ketones and glucose through keto mojo. I have a Samsung watch that I use to track my daily walking(most of the days, sometimes I dont track).
