Therapeutic

I expressed my desire to come off my meds to my psychologist and had his full support. We had weekly sessions for awhile and then eventually tapered off the sessions to bi-weekly and then monthly as progress was achieved. I did my own medication monitoring, but with his support.

Integration

I did not monitor lab work, and the only supplement I have used consistently on this journey is B1 and mineral/electrolyte supplementation.

Nutritional

While I was strict about eating ketogenic approved foods, I was not strict about measuring macros aside from carbohydrates which I kept as close to 0 as physically possible. There were no "cheats". It was animal based food sources and vegetables. I varied my meals between 0-2.

Ketosis

When/if I measured ketones, I did so via blood (Keto-Mojo) and aimed for 2.0+. I did not test often or consistently.

Sleep

I didn't know then what I know now with regard to circadian rhythm supports and the effects of artificial lights and tech on the body. I have also been an early to bed and early to rise as sleep has always been very important to me. Early on my journey I was told to wear red lensed glasses by a functional neurologist to support eye fatigue I was experiencing in my day job. My life now is immersed in circadian rhythm supports and blocking artificial light and non-native electromagnetic fields (nnEMF).

Move

In the medication weening process, I tried yoga for a bit. Other than that, I would just do walks in nature. Now, I still do quite a bit of walking, but I also strength train.

Avoid

I had no desire for alcohol for the first few months of overhauling my diet. It did not appeal to me in the least. We stopped eating out at restaurants so that naturally limited social interactions until we learned how to work with the menus.

Rebuild

Mindset practices like meditation and gratitude were huge. Paying attention to the language I used and the content I exposed myself to i.e. avoiding social media, not watching the news, bringing in more laughter. I also went back to school to learn nutrition so that I could help others do what I did.
