My THINK + SMART Profile

Key Symptoms Addressed

My depression lifted. I stopped having life-consuming thoughts for creating systems and order. I am able to experience joy because I'm no longer in a chaotic, angry state.

My Top Three Strategies

Meat-Based-No Sugars No Grains (NSNG) diet, strength training, time-restricted eating.

T H

Therapeutic

Direct primary care physician who monitors bloodwork and symptoms.

I

Integration

Testing as requested by DO. Daily supplements: vitamin D, magnesium, salt, and potassium.

N

Nutritional

18:6 daily intermittent fasting, mostly carnivore, always NSNG (no sugars no grains). I don't track macros, but I never go above 20g carbs on any given day. Most days are zero carb.

K

Ketosis

I've maintained my remission without ever testing ketones. However, because I rarely eat carbs, I'm confident that I'm in ketosis.

S

Sleep

I maintain a strict sleep schedule daily. Instead of waking to an alarm, I wake to my white noise gently turning off. I sleep in a cool, dark room, using a sleep mask if necessary.

M

Move

Strength training 6x/week, daily yoga, daily walks. Cardio exercises up to an hour 4 days/week when not injured.

A

Avoid

Eliminated all processed carbohydrates, refined sugars and grains. Moderate whole-food carbs, limited to very few vegetables & blueberries. Limit coffee to 2 measured cups per day. No alcohol.

R

Rebuild

I find great joy in helping others gain benefit from eating low carb. Spending time in the community keeps me grounded.

T

Track

I've asked my family to monitor my mental health symptoms as they notice them before I recognize them.

Metabolic and thyroid panels at least twice a year.
