Waiting to be seen by new family doctor to run labs. Supplements: MCT oil, Omega-3 with DHA, vitamin D3, and 5-methylfolate.

Nutritional

In my house, we are each eating a different version of whole foods animal based low-carb/keto diets full of nutrient dense foods and avoiding artificial sweeteners. We listen to our bodies and practice time restricted feeding, eating our meals between 10am and 6pm most days but being flexible when life happens. We bring our own food and snacks with us so we never have to worry about what menu options are available for us when not at home. We each aim to keep the vegetable and fruit carbs low without stressing about measuring and have found the addition of MCT oil and MCT rich foods help to keep the ketones high.

Ketosis

Urine strips. Originally, tested daily, multiple times a day - aiming for above 1.5 (between 1.5 and 4 is where we feel best). Once fat adapted, the strips haven't been used as frequently as we can feel when they're low vs high and can make the metabolic changes to bring them back up.

Sleep

Sunlight as soon as possible in the morning and throughout the day, as well as going outside in the dark before bed. Keeping lights dim and using candle light in the evenings, using blue-light blocking glasses, and reading instead of scrolling or watching TV.

Move

Multiple short walks throughout the day whenever I can fit them in, resistance training, strength training and primal movements.

Avoid

I surround myself with people who bring me peace. I no longer drink alcohol. I had a medicinal marijuana license for 8 years. I used both CBD and THC daily, throughout the day, and nightly to ease some of my symptoms, and now I do not.

Rebuild

I am finding such purpose in sharing my experience with others and helping them change their own relationship with food and their dietary habits to regain control of their own health and mental health, too.

Waiting on new family doctor to run labs, and exploring the use of a CGM to better understand my own glucose response to food, stress, etc.
