Our Story

We are a nonprofit leveraging the science and practice of metabolic psychiatry to transform mental health outcomes.

Metabolic Mind was started by the Baszucki family after their son recovered from a five-year battle with bipolar disorder using a therapeutic ketogenic diet. This experience inspired the Baszucki’s mission to fund research, provide resources for clinicians, and bring information to families like theirs. Their goal is to transform mental health outcomes by bringing metabolic approaches into mainstream care.
