Should You Try Ketogenic Therapy? Inspiration for the Keto Curious
I’ve been asked many times how to convince someone to try medical keto, seeing how transformative this treatment can be. For many physical and psychiatric conditions, I completely understand the desire to urge loved ones to try it. Welcome to Metabolic Mind, a non profit initiative of Baszucki Group, transforming the study and treatment of mental disorders by exploring the connection between metabolism and brain health. Thank you for joining us on this journey. Please remember, our channel is for informational purposes only. We’re not providing individual or group medical or healthcare advice, or establishing a provider patient relationship. Many of the interventions we discuss can have potentially dangerous effects if done without proper supervision. Consult your healthcare provider before changing your lifestyle or medications. In addition, please recognize that people may respond differently to ketosis, and there isn’t one recognized universal response.

Who is Hannah Warren?
Hi, I’m Hannah Warren, the Mental Health Communications and Advocacy Manager at Metabolic Mind. I’ve used metabolic treatments, including ketogenic therapy. I’ve been asked many times how to convince someone to try medical keto. As an advocate, my main goal is to make people aware that ketogenic therapy is an option worth exploring. But in the end, you can never force someone to try keto. It’s up to each person to decide if this is something they want to implement.

The Benefits of Ketogenic Therapy
First off, I like to share that ketogenic therapy offers side benefits. benefits rather than side effects. Unlike many psychotropic medications that can harm metabolism and worsen physical health, keto can actually improve psychiatric symptoms while repairing metabolism. It can even counteract negative side effects of some medications. This unique approach can improve both brain function and physical health, often allowing patients to reduce or even eliminate medication use, like I have. Well, ketogenic therapy has far exceeded my expectations, enabling me to I absolutely would have tried it just as an adjunctive therapy to help counter the cardiometabolic side effects of medication if I had known that was an option after my initial diagnosis.

Hannah’s Journey to Remission by Targeting Root Causes
Based on my personal experience and what I feel is compelling scientific evidence, I believe in Dr. Christopher Palmer’s brain energy theory that psychiatric conditions are caused by metabolic dysfunction. I believe that metabolic therapies have actually treated the root cause of my Bipolar I Disorder. Not only helping alleviate symptoms, but actually repairing my mitochondrial dysfunction. And that’s led to healing and full remission. I’ve been using metabolic therapies as my sole form of treatment for more than three years now, and I’m living a life that is symptom free, happy, and healthy. I’ve now, um, had the opportunity to connect with many others who are in remission from serious mental illnesses like schizophrenia, chronic depression, eating disorders. Thanks to metabolic therapies and, like me, they are now leading lives that are better than they ever could have dreamed of during their darkest times.

How Ketogenic Therapy Empowers and Teaches Discipline
For people dealing with mental illness, ketogenic therapy can be a powerful way to restore a sense of control and build lifelong strength and resilience. Practicing metabolic therapies helps build self discipline that can empower individuals post recovery. https: Helping them pursue new goals after healing. Honestly, if someone were to offer me a pill that could do everything my metabolic therapies do, I do keto, fasting, exercise, meditation as part of my metabolic therapy regime. I would not take that pill because mental illness made me feel weak and powerless for so long and being able to make lifestyle changes That I’ve fully restored my health has given me back my sense of self and the sense that I have control over my life. This is my most valuable asset, and I will never take it for granted.

The Role of Mindset in Success on Keto
Finally, I want to share that helpful mindsets can assist people with adhering to keto. Um, when I first started jogging, I used to play this little trick on myself, where if I wasn’t in the mood to jog, I’d tell myself that I only had to do it for five minutes, and if I still didn’t feel like it, I could stop. And almost every time, I’d keep going once I got started. Similarly, you know, for those thinking about trying keto, it might help to just view it as a six month experiment instead of a lifelong commitment. If people commit to keto for a set period, they might find the benefits so amazing that the initial sacrifice doesn’t seem like a big deal anymore. Like me, many start loving this diet and they stop craving carbs.

Hannah’s Hope for Ketogenic Therapy
My hope is to see ketogenic therapy and metabolic strategies transform lives. Each person we reach has the potential to not only heal themselves, but also inspire others. Thanks for watching. If you enjoyed this video, please share it with others you think could benefit.
